Do you want to create a welcome page for users that haven’t liked your fan page yet? One like this?
For this tutorial, I will assume that you already have a fan page for yourself or your business. These steps are pretty simple, but if you have any questions about it, feel free to contact me at sales@studiointeractive.net and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
- Add the Static FBML application to your applications. When you do this, if you have more than one fan page, it will ask you which one you want to add this to.
- Once you have added the application, go to your fan page and click on the edit page tab right below your picture. Scroll down until you see the FBML box. Now click on the edit link under that section and you can add custom HTML to your box. For our custom page, I just added a header image, and some HTML text with links to my site. - Now, once we have created our page, we want users to see that page first. You may need to go back to your fan page and hit the edit tab under your picture again. Once you are back to the settings page, click on wall settings. In that section, there is a listing that says “Default Landing Tab for Everyone Else:” Click on the pull down and select you new welcome page.
- THAT’S ALL! Now all new users will see the welcome page when they find you through facebook. If someone already likes your fan page, they will go to your wall instead.
