Picking your key words
Google makes it easier to pick key words but allowing you to search for certain key words and see how many times a month the term is searched for. Use this tool to find out how many searches a key term gets per month.

When you search for key terms, look at some of the similar key words and how many times they are searched for. A good starting point would be your search term with the city and state you live it. Remember, start small and go from there.
Keyword density checker
Now that you’ve got your key terms picked out, it’s time to check your key word density. With this tool from WebConfs, you can see at a glance which words are more predominant on a page of your site. You can also see exactly how many times you have a word on your page. There are other density checkers out there, however this one makes it easy to see at a glance.
